W 1-4pm Do you feel your experience has been helpful in your decision to become or not become an engineer? Absolutely, I reaffirmed my decision to become a computer engineer. How has this experience influenced your decision, either positively or negatively, in what you plan to study in college? I definitely was left curious about the hardware aspects of computer science and the look forward studying in that area. What is your opinion of Research and Design? It is a great opportunity to learn and provides you with an informed decision of the area of study you wish to pursue.

What were your responsibilities while working at KU School of Engineering? Design and build a clamping push bar for the formula car. How many hours a week did you work on your project? 6 Hours What hours did you work? Wednesday and/or Thursday from M T Th F 2-3pm and W 1-3 Do you feel your experience has been helpful in your decision to become or not become an engineer? I think it has helped, though I was already certain about wanting to be an engineer. How has this experience influenced your decision, either positively or negatively, in what you plan to study in college? It has taught me more about the norms of mechanical engineering and strengthened my desire to study mechanical. I think it is a great way to help you decide what you want to study and a great way to get hands on experience right away..

Dr. Darwin What were your responsibilities while working at KU School of Engineering? I helped the Phd. Students and undergraduates make and test concrete beams. I learned the whole process through the cement mixing lab and re-bar lab. How many hours a week did you work on your project? About 6-8. What hours did you work? Do you feel your experience has been helpful in your decision to become or not become an engineer? I've always planned to be an engineer, but this helped me narrow down my decision in which type of engineering to go into. How has this experience influenced your decision, either positively or negatively, in what you plan to study in college? It has positively given me an idea of what I want to do because I was also informed on another major that I am also considering. What is your opinion of Research and Design? I Loved it. It was a good way to get experience in the college atmosphere and I did not have to stay at LHS all day which is a plus.

Dr. Lisa Frits What were your responsibilities while working at KU School of Engineering? Assisted in creating and testing prosthetic bones. How many hours a week did you work on your project? 3 hours What hours did you work? MWF 3:30 to 4:30 Do you feel your experience has been helpful in your decision to become or not become an engineer? Yes, very much so. How has this experience influenced your decision, either positively or negatively, in what you plan to study in college? It helped me realize that finding solutions to the world through science and engineering is what I enjoy doing. Even though it proved that biology wasn't for me, it helped me learn that I like doing scientific research and creating programs. What is your opinion of Research and Design? It was definitely helpful in helping me discover my interests. Being involved in hands-on, recent research was an eye-opener for me to the scientific world.
